I often see unexpected things when out and about. It's the nature of being outside for long periods of time. Every night when I am camping I will wake a few times, and when I do I usually look outside to see what the weather is doing to give me ideas for sunrise. When I looked out of the tent on this particular night I saw what I thought were Noctilucent clouds (a rare sight) but then the clouds m
oved. With a voice much like a child would make when they see Father Christmas I exclaimed 'Emma wake up, Northern Lights, Northern Lights!'.
I have never seen Aurora before so it was a magical experience. Given that there was only an hour or so of night dark enough to see the Aurora it was a very early and lucky sighting indeed. My only regret is that I wasn't in a more scenic location and the shots are slightly out of focus but I'm not complaining
