Twisted Beech by Alex37 Twisted Beech by Alex37
I will be certainly be returning here. It is noticeable as you walk around the wood that noone has disturbed it and it is totally unspoilt.

You know, I bet this would also make a great B&W if you're into that....

Yeah it probably would actually, although I very rarely prefer B&W to colour. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Your color work is so strong that I understand. Let me know if you try a B&W!

Beautiful shot Alex! Did you take this with a tripod? The colours are great!

Yes I did. The polariser really cut down the reflections and brought out the green. Thanks

Like the spooky feel to the place. It looks really old and untouched like you say, but are there old gate posts or footpaths running through it anywhere?

I like shooting up at wistmans as its so high with good light yet loads of opportunity for great images.

Well there are some gateposts on the way there but none actually in the wood. Like I say there is no real evidence of people going there. The river is (tavy) is right next to it and unpassable without getting wet and the path does not go through the wood. On top of this you have to jump a couple of barbed wire fences and jump over rock pools next to a very steep river bank. You definietly need walking boots but there is a real satisfaction in getting there. I am going back there now as a matter of fact its definitely worth the uphill cycle.

Looks like a pretty special wood.
It's nicely exposed but these kind of shots don't do a lot for me in all honesty.

yeah I will be returning, its very difficult to shoot in all honesty. There is so much everywhere that its hard to take a simple shot. I will probably go back this evening.
