The last of July by Alex37 The last of July by Alex37
It has rained almost non-stop for the last three days. Today it cleared slightly just 10 minutes before sunset. I was actually eating my dinner when I realised what was about to happen and had just enough time to get this shot.

This is a tribute to Steve "the dark lord" Sellman

I love the way the sun seems to be straining to see round the bend in the lane.

I usually hate powerlines in photos, but the way the light hits them and the gentle swoop actually makes it pretty. :)

Yeah, shame about the wires for sure, but I think removing them would break my moral system a bit!

I think the telephone lines spoil it. Nice evening light village postcard, (if you cloned out the lines..)

I don't like to clone things that cant be moved or aren't a lens fault, but I agree that it is unfortunate.

 I disagree with Steve, I like this - especially the sun, it feels like a burst of light in the darkness - obviously - nice touch.

This is so beautiful, I actually gasped when I saw it. Haha, your dedication to photography astounds me--nothing short of a meteor crashing in the front yard could pull me away from my dinner! I'm glad you abandoned yours long enough to take this shot, though. I love how the road reflects the sun--it took me a second to realize it wasn't water. I even like the telephone wires in the shot--they contribute another pretty line emphasizing the focal point.
