Finally I have a shot of Tavy Cleave which captures the drama of the place. I have shot this waterfall numerous times myself and I have also been with *sassaputzin *Orca76 ~PastyGuy Paul Morgan and 2 workshop attendees. I have photographed it countless times, but never had broody sky like this. The real bonus was the rich colour of the water, produced by the peat in it and the turbulent motion fo the rapid.
I actaully took this on Mothers Day on a walk with my mum, whe was amazed by the river!
The River Tavy is the second fastest rising and falling river int he UK. This was taken about an hour after heavy rain.

Love this picture. It's so desolate yet full of power with the strength of the river. Awesome!

Fantastic you have captured it well, especially the movement in the water

Agree to disagree. I tried to cross to see if it was better from the other side. It was totally impassable thoguh and I had to retreat!
Lets just hope good weather rolls on, I have lots of great locations sorted I think

Although the water movement looks fantastic however the overall shot doesn't work, the composition is a little unsettling and very foreground 'heavy'. However, for the location it's a keeper.

There are 2 aspect of the composition that I dont like, the fact that the hill on the right is relatively flat and the central tree, but other than that I actually think the composition is quite strong. Perviously I have ruled this composition out because the flow of water was too far to the right of the frame, but with the river bursting like this is balance is much better. Thanks for the crit though
