Silent Dawn by Alex37 Silent Dawn by Alex37
My past two submissions were both taken the evening before this shot. What I didnt meantion was that there was a lot of dew settling on my lens (spoiling a few shots) and I knew that meant a good chance of mist in the morning.

I was up at 4.30 to get this.

oh and the EXIF is wrong, it was taken at 5.30 not 4.30, I had to wait a while for the mist to clear sufficiently.

Amazing! people usually rely on striking colors for amazing landscape pictures, yet, here you were able to create an alluring atmosphere with a mere monochrome of primarily whites. Congratulations and thank you for sharing!

Once again, absolutely amazing photo, the castle tower just perfects this. One of those shots you could print and hang in your study till you die.

Simple yet very powerful image. I feel that the right side is running little short in the end. Do you have a vertical with the area around towers as well? I think that would be a very strong image.

Thanks Tomas, I agree on the right side, it is a slight let down but I think the shot is still better with it than without. I wish I had a longer lens but 200mm (320 equiv. on my 20D) is all I can afford at the moment!

4.30 am is nothing :) Try getting up at 2am, then driving 100 miles to be in place for a shot at sunrise, then driving 120miles back to be at your desk for 9 :p

what the shot?

it is possible that I foresaw that you would challenge me, and then put the date on my camera forward so that the exif would read as being within the timeframe of the challenge that hadnt been set yet....
