A photographer once told me that he had been to a tiny area of woodland, right off the beaten path, just to shoot an area I had taken a photo in. Whilst flattering it left me a little frustrated that he didnt just go exploring for himself and maybe find something nearby and different. Afterall there was nothing special about the woodland.

This is just the result of going for a walk somewhere new as a few of the other Devon folk here have done.

I know the log detracts a bit from the composition and the highlights are blown, but this is the closest I have ever come to the image which encouraged me into photogrpahy in the first place, taken in the forests of Australia.

Love the glassy effect on water, I tried this sort of shot so many times, but my composition was never right.

which log detracts from the composition, evey inch of this image is facinating, natural, and beautiful

any chance you have a higher res picture of this that i could use as a dual screen desktop back ground?

i love the australian scenery, even the most desolate places in australia can be so beautiful, and the only way to get to see it is by taking road trips through different regions.
