Great light; I like the way it casts a warm glow on the rocks without obliterating any of the detail. And the contrast with the sky is, of course, great. :)

This is different and that's why I like it so much. The sky is cloudy and yet the rocks are on fire with light. I like how they you captured the scene with the big rock up close- it creates depth. And a big  for the width.

compositionally..its all wrong....the rock on the left is too heavy in the composition crowding everything else...as jake says it seems a little stretched...

Great shot Alex! I love the rich saturation on the rocks caused by the sun, really pretty and well executed :)

I love the light and the clouds and the colour but this just doesn't do much for me. Maybe it's the format/composition I can't really say, it looks very wide angle distorted too, not sure that helps.
A good image but not a personal fave.

Fantastic light and colours, love the sky too, we haven't had a sunny spell more than 10 minutes long this week!

Amazing work! Like everyone else has already pointed out, the lighting is spectacular. The sharpness and contrast between the sky and the landscape really makes this an awesome shot also. :)

when I get older, I will hopefully get the craze to wake up early enough to get a dose of this light.

Well I am only 2 years your senior and at your age I was getting up very early.

That said, this is a sunset, the light is much the same as you would get at sunrise though because the air is so clear

I'm not so sure, I have shot some pretty red sunrises: [link]

Generally I do find sunrise light is better :)

ah, I believed that sunrises had cooler colour temperatures.

well yes, that would be true, but the light at sunrise is usually cleaner and brighter so you can end up with shots with even richer colours. For example on hazy evenings you can actually see the sun go pink, but at this point very little sunlight actually reaches the scene. I think both sunrises and sunset have their charms though :)
