This is actually my last summer living in Peter Tavy, although I will be returning to the family home on a regular basis.
As a result I have been keen to get local shots which I have been planning for a while. This was a view I originally shot 6 years ago as a bit of a snapshot of the veiw on my then brand new 2mpix Canon A40, my first camera. In fact, assuming i havent deleted any earlier shots, it is my very first photo of the village! Here is the shot: [link]
Obviously this is a pretty big veiw and there is lots of detail you jest cant make out so here is a heavily watermarked version of the final image. [link]
I know that some people will have 2 points of critique in their heads. 1. The clouds. I WISH there were more clouds on the left. Unfortunately I was here an hour before when the light was harsher and for 20 minutes after, and it never got better than this. 2. The wall to the bottom right. In honesty that was because I didnt check my veiwfinder thoroughly enough. I took a more wideangle shot originally, then moved to a more zoomed shot without recomposing.
Actually the wall works quite well. It serves to lead the viewer's eye accross and down into the scene... it makes one feel like he is passing by one of the most beautiful places on Earth... one can easily imagine the Earth swirling beneath gossimer clouds enticing the Sun into her embrance. Most of us wait all our lives to capture just one picture like this and almost every other shot you have posted here. I am frankly awed.
