I would have like to shoot this image closer to sunset to get slightly deeper colours, but the hill behind meant I wouldnt have any sunshine on my foreground. Newvertheless, the clear blue sky, amazing clarity in the air and the cloud hovering above Snowdon come together nicely.

After taking this shot I started my trip up Snowdon, already feeling tired from a general lack of fitness. I camped just 200m from the summit and was lucky to find somewhere to pitch my tent. I had a bad nights sleep when the wind changed direction and started buffetting my tent. I awoke to total cloud cover. Although I still made the journey to the top the trip was a bit disappointing and I am certainly feeling tired today!

I know just what you mean, I went up Snowdon on saturday and had the same thing, total cloud cover. Great image here though, the line made by the shadows of the edge leads into the image really well.

Lovely shot! Surely well worth the effort.

I can certainly sympathise with you on the human effort involved in getting yourself going again in spring. In England we can go out on trips in winter but we really have to pick our moments. This winter has been very poor for decent weather at weekends, when I can get company from my usual companion. Consequently we've got lazy. We went on our first proper cycle in some weeks last Sunday & a jolly miserable time was had by all; quite unfitly in the dark, the wind & the rain. I didn't even get my camera out.

Absolutely. We've just come back from a really good ride on this lovely, sunny day. Still unfit though.
