Morning Frost, Cumbria by Alex37 Morning Frost, Cumbria by Alex37
After my weekend hiking I was subsequently confined to a hotel to do team building and tell everyone how I felt all the time, which I found a little bit tiresome. The health and safety regulations meant it was actually not unlike boarding school. I actually had to sneak out of the hotel to get this shot, but with breakfast at 8 and sunrise at 8 I couldnt go far!

Very nice, Alex! The vivid light with the starkness of the ground is extremely eye-catching. Great capture!

Great shot considering the limited time, and subject. The two horses in the bottom right give a nice sense of scale. Is that another two darker horses on top of the hill, near the center I see?

Yeah, just imagine this sunrise from the edge of a lake or top of a mountain!
On the bright side it did force me into shooting a subject I wouldnt usually go for :)

I like the fence leading toward the ridge line, that gives you some balance to all the horizontal lines. It's a great shot, but the 50/50 split of foreground and sky throws me off. Great colors and blending, probably not an easy on to process!

50/50 whatever :P
To be honest that is something I considered, but I liked it this way :)

sometimes you've got to see it both ways and decide which you like better. it's certainly not an absolute rule. :D

no, I have a few in my gallery that break that rule :)

Oh! The contrast between the sky (very vivid and colorful) and the ground (white and some dark areas) is simply beautiful!

Your photos are always beautiful! A very great job!
Congratulations!~☺
