I've been desperate to shoot images in the relatively harsh light of midday but its no easy task. The high contrast will generally wash out colour and leave images that are flat and lifeless. Everything came together perfectly to shoot this image in the late morning in Lofoten. I suspect the reflections from the much larger lake beneath the mountain ridge assist in opening up the shadows a little and I was surprised to see the scene rendered so pleasingly when I got back home.

yep! I'm sure it will come back to bite me! Lofoten was pretty much non-stop ridiculous
