Easdale by Alex37 Easdale by Alex37
Easedale and Easdale Tarn from Heron Pike, Lake District, Cumbria

Another shot from the 15 minutes or so of stunning light we had at sunrise. What a view! I am happy with the photos I took on the morning, but nothing can compare to the real thing!

This one is really great. That light was georgous indeed.
When I saw it I said to myself - that looks like from 5D - I scrolled down and yep, 5D :)

I try, although it's difficult to respond to every comment sometimes! BTW I think the word you might be after is 'respectful', 'respective means something different :) Thanks

Certainly one of my favs of yours. Much more moody than most of your shots. I wanna see this really big.

Sadly it wouldnt look that great huge. Its a little soft, the focal length was just too great for the pretty extreme buffetting the tripod was getting :( Thanks though

I'm glad it's not just me that struggles with camera stability. IS works pretty well....

well I very rarely struggle to be honest but this was no ordinary wind! The Gitzo explorer I now use pretty much stops vibration issues

Wonderful. When you posted the first shot from here (with the rock in the foreground) wonderful though that shot is, part of me was thinking that if it had been me, I'd have shot it with a tele and without the foreground...I should have guessed you'd have done the same thing.
I think I prefer this composition, it highlights what, for me, are the best elements of the scene; the wonderful red hills and green fields, the contrast of light and shadow, and the fantastic mountain range on the horizon.
Brilliant stuff

Hi Alex you've done it again....beautiful picture the light and colours are just sublime. I love the reds and the greens and the way the light rakes in from the left as the sun rises. An awesome place..and you've certainly done it justice in this picture.....I feel like I could fall right in.

Thanks very much Andy. The light was a treat, and the visibility was incredible, couldnt really have hoped for more. I was explaining that to the guy I was hiking with at the time, he didnt understand, but did love being on top of a mountain at sunrise :)

amazing piece, really beautiful land, the light is absolutely perfect and the whole picture is somehow sentimental for me... like "goodbye autumn"... probably it is because of the sunshine in the valley, it seems like there is still autumn, but on the horizon, in the mountains, there is already winter...
