Early Autumn by Alex37 Early Autumn by Alex37
I concious of the fact that many of my shots fall into a similar style, a minimum number of elements, a (hopefully strong) composition and great light. As I wandered around Sheeps Tor I found it very difficult to simplify thing, but eventually found this collection of rocks, which I felt worked as a foreground. Usually I would look for just one or three stones, but perhaps I should be a little more open minded.

In the distance are Sharpitor, Leather Tor and Great Mis Tor with Burrator Resevoir below.

The problems with the camera seemed to fix themselves. I do get the occasional error 01 or error 99 though, but probably only once every couple hundred shots. The sensor is still scratched

peaceful image.
Indeed the lack of a single outstanding element makes the image less strong, but it is pleasant and I think it suits well with the fall atmosphere.

It's looks great man. It's a photograph not a Picasso.Great light. I like the streak of river moving across the pic. And its a great composition. Very nice location! :)

I love the light in this picture...makes me wish I was there...and I do. I think maybe it would have been better in portrait format the main interests in the picture seem to be running through the middle of the photo.

No problem..........that's what art is all about.......if we all agreed every picture would look the same.

Definitely some great light, especially on the foreground rocks. I really like the composition with the Tor peaks in the distance, very well framed within the shot. Only thing I'm not 100% on is the mast on the right, it doesn't seem straight for a start, and just pulls away from an all natural scene.
I really like that subtle band of morning light above the horizon as well.

yeah, I saw that, probably needs a bit of rotation. Like it or not, that mast is part of the view, so it stays. THanks for the crit Phil.

Hope you're not getting ';paranoid' about your style!! :)

Another great shot. I would have been nearly tempted to clone out the mast.
