Camping by Alex37 Camping by Alex37
Freezing rain when we set up the tent and well below zero overnight. If you have the proper equipment and okay weather you can sleep soundly and wake up for sunrise on a snow covered mountaintop.

The tent pictured is a Terra Nova Ultra Quasar

Awesome. Can't wait to do a similar thing myself! Is that a half polarised rainbow in the sky or something? Looks a little funny...?

No, not polarised, nor have I processed it in any way. :)

Great shot.

I know from my own experience how much gear is required for camping in mountainous locations, especially in winter, and presumably, like myself, you carry that camping gear in a rucksack. Does the amount of camping gear you carry limit the amount of camera gear you can carry and where do you carry/stow that camera gear?

I've always bought camera gear that I felt would give an acceptable weight for camping. My tripod, camera, wideangle and telephoto come in at 5kg total. I store them in the main compartment of the bag. If I am weight concious I store the lenses in spare socks and the camera in a modified hat with a drawstring!
Total weight of my rucksack is usually around 18-19kg for overnighters in winter.

If you want to see the true master of the word "epicosity" though, go to youtube and look up Tobuscus. He uses it pretty well. lol XD
