Just before a mini blizzard hit. I was a bit worried at the time because I was a long walk from home and my clothing wasnt really sufficient!

This is a subject I have photographed many times before at merrivale. I went here because I was the only nearby location that I could guarantee I could get nice shots in the snow.

i really love this shot and the mystery that it brings within it, really like how the sun is hiding behind the mist, the moment was caught so perfectly that I’m getting cold =P

You didn't wear gloves?! :faint:

Worth braving the chill though. Nice clean shot and I do like how the background is obscured by the cloud/snow.

I'll agree with you though, I do like the crop with this shot.

I'm more of a trigpoint person myself ;)

(You should send this to a christmas card company btw! I'd buy them :D)

sorry, you would prefer a concrete trig point! :faint:

I keep being told to do christmas cards. I have looked into it. The problem is, other than buying massive numbers, the cost is quite high and the resulting profit would be incredibly low, and, with the numbers I would expect to sell, not really worth doing. yet.....

Thanks

Alex

I always take pictures of myself arsing around on trigpoints doing something gymnastic-y, that's all ^-^

I suppose that's always a problem...hmm. You could try seeling a few locally first and see how well they go down. How good is your printer at home?

You have to do masses of home printing to make back the cost of commercial printing so its not something I have really considered.

Great simplicity ;] I like the narrow cropping, concentrating on the essentials. Feels like the pillar is a sentient being worshipping the sun... especially since the place looks so dreary and cold, in need of some sun ;] Your frame suits the picture well.

great shot, I didn't realise you had that much snow on Dartmoor we only had a small flurry of snow that only lasted about 20 minuets
