I had great hopes for this sunrise with the high altostratus and cumulus but is so often the case a few clouds in the wrong place meant it never materialised. I'm very used to this ind of disappointment now to the point that it hardly even bothers me. It was nice to have a burst of really nice light to give me a shot to take home. No complaints!
I'de love to know what that structure is. It looks man-made - some old ruins?
Its natural. Volcanic plugs cooled underground forming granite. Erosion washed the earth above them away exposing the stacks which continually collapse as the ground continues to erode (obviously over milliions of years though!)
The early light is beautiful. Great picture as always!
