This is another retake, here is the original,: [link] . I knew that in the right light this scene would be good, but I hadnt envisaged this.

The sun is lighting the plains bleow and to the sides but not the foreground which creates the contrast.

Processing consists of exposure blending to hold back the sky and brightening the foreground grass.

EDIT: I have now reduced the saturation just slightly. You can also download the PSD f this image here, if you are interested in how the processing was done.

Breathtaking. Just beautiful. It adds a sense of awe to imagine the ancients standing on this ground taking in such a spectacular scene. Thanks for showing and explaining how you got this image -- it is so interesting to see your comparison to alternative lighting [link]
